According to zezo, it takes longer time to reach the finish line with C0 as the only option, compared to no options at all. :-)

The router result is generally not valid after a 90-degree turn. In fact I'd route for the island initially because the second part of the track can sometimes affect even the initial straight line.

Reason behind is that the optimizer goal is such that the router can't sail back towards the origin, even if that's the proper move. Which is not a problem when there are no obstacles, but generates funny results with buoys and land masses.

In this particular case the presence of C0 leads to some local optimum after the mark, which goes into dead end later.
