RORC Caribbean 600

I can figure out it's quite impossible to set gates and route calculations for this funny race.
Howerver, can we get the map and sync it with VR dashboard to study and set manually the routing options?
Many thanks

Don't worry. Cvetan will put it up eventually. This is an annual race, so he already has the whole course. He'll just need to check to make sure they didn't change anything. It's more than a week away.

The router actually handles this race quite well. There are some legs where you have to make your own decisions close to land, but there are also some longer legs where the router is quite helpful.

Half the race is sailing as close a possible to the islands without grounding. I usually overdo it around the third island.

The other half is not sleeping much for few days.

The router helps a bit with the tacking, but should not be trusted too much.

I already miss a new race, and I look forward to this one with some expectation.

Race added. Forecast shows the usual trade wind pattern, so if know what to expect if you've ever played it before. Some waypoints will be accounted for, some won't, and they'll move as we go - I'll be activating/deactivating them as the fleet moves around.

Does anyone know where exactly the center of the marks is?

I'd assume it's at the center of the spinning arrows.

On the Dashboard map, it's at the tip of the marker :-)
If you zoom all the way in, you get a resolution of a few centimetres, but it's often hard to place a waypoint closer than 20m.

I never made this kind of race, do you use mostly waypoints or twa ? or a combination of both ?

Good luck to all :)

TWA offshore, waypoints around the islands. Some N-S stretches can also be straight lines - HDG or waypoint.

on the way to mark 2, does it matter if you leave mark 10 to port or starboard?

No. In the real race, they are the same mark. But, anyways, 10 is irrelevant until you pass 9.
