Thanks for producing this spreadsheet. It helps me to roughly guess that I'll be able to get into the top 10 with the leg 10 win, but probably not near the top. I had too many legs where my "cunning plan" didn't work out like Leg 10.

I'm curious... How did you produce the spreadsheet? For the first few legs, I maintained one of my own, but it only had 50 or 60 entries because I had to look up every finish individually and push the finishes through calculations to produce the result. You ave 35,000 entries, so I'm guessing you must have some way of extracting the data?

I'm not sure how the spreadsheet is produced, but I'm curious, too.

I can imagine it's a semi-automatic process. The race history of each player contains the full result list of each race he participated in. The game server sends the results in a JSON format in chunks as you page through the results.

There are 100-200 pages per race or leg you would have to display manually, but you could grab the data and assemble them into CSV using a Chrome extension.

You can see the JSON messages in the Debugger, or in VR Dashboard (go to the RAW LOG tab and enable logging).

Only the the 10000 first boats because the file is a bit heavy. Same link :-)

I agree with you. I would say:
- 1 Tame Bird
- 2 Wet-Spot
- 3 galere-splendioseTPN

I also think that VR will add a second joker. So only 9 out of 11 legs could count.

The smallest number of points is removed. It is not the worst ranking on a leg.

For example, if we look closely at the results of Eric Ingremare, currently 4th overall:

- On leg 3 (VSR4), he finished 309th, he won 1145 points.
- On leg 6 (VSR3), he finished 713th, he won 1239 points.

For him, the leg 3 does not count.

The higher the VSR of the race, the more points you get.

It looks like 10,000 boats will finish Leg 11 by Wednesday morning European time... Would you be able to update the numbers on Wednesday with that data? Or do you have to wait for it to close?

I guess we won't know if they add another joker or not until after it closes.

I think Albatros passed me by finishing 9th. I'm not sure, but I think that's the only change for me unless they add a second joker. It'll be interesting to see how the final standings come out. Thanks for doing this analysis. It's a shame VR doesn't simply provide it.

Edit: I just checked the M11 finishes of the top 25 from the pre-M11 overall standings. Most finished between 100th and 200th which should mean 1276 to 1519 points, which isn't a big difference. So there shouldn't be much change in the standings from M11 unless they add a joker. Funny that so many of the overall top 25 couldn't get into the top 100 in M11.

I think the only ones in the top 100 were Galere (3), Albatros (9), Aigle-Vert (34), Tipap (92), and Buddha (96). Outside the top 200, I'm only finding GreenPiece (246), Antoine17 (309), Bandy (430), Poggiulane (514), Nicobaiona (546), and Eric I (827).

However, I have one question: Why are there some boats (among them mine) who received zero points for the first leg,although they finished (in my case in 94th place)? Thanks for any clarification!

Hi,

I see you have 2055 points for the first leg and not 0.

I forgot to hide 2 columns which I used for the calculations. In one of them, you had 0, maybe you thought it corresponded to leg 1? This zero means you have done 9 legs or less and therefore that there are no cells to be grayed out since all your results count.

To sort more easily, you can save a copy of the file and remove the protection from the sheet, there is no password.

Otherwise, there may be errors for those who have changed their boat name.
