In RORC I'm in southwest corner of the fleet, doing a TWA 145/144 (VMG max). If I continue on 145 for 24 hours and select that point as starting point I will be 4 hours ahead of current best route. I did the same for my NMS ElCheapo, and again ETA is about 4 hours sooner. I must be doing something wrong, but what?
PS: I added the 24 hours on TWA145 to zezo predicted time to finish

The only thing that comes to mind is that when selecting the point where I will be (approx) as starting point the tool will use the current wind at that point, and not what it will be 24 hours from now

Selecting that point does not shift the weather 24 hours ahead (which is a feature on the wishlist)

So you are running a routing with a (potentially very) different forecast than the current conditions suggest.

It looks like the trade winds are getting stronger, so if tomorrow you do a routing from your current position you should also get 4 hours shorter time.

Or, take it another way, if you do routing now from your position 24 hours back, then the total duration would be about 4 hours less than it was yesterday.

Correction. The difference would be in the other direction if the conditions were getting better, so they are getting worse, but that's the basic idea.

Or not ... confusing, and it's been a long day. Too tired to think.
