What about this fucking bug ?
It s the second time for me.
A race can't be serious, a race can't be fair with this kind of bug.
You fight for top 50, for top 10 , for the tittle (Tessa94), and you loose because the guys of VR don't able to do the job. Angry.

I support by 100% your post. The incident happened in frond of me. Tessa's boat by passing the WP boy turned 180 dgre and he lost at that moment more than 100 positions. He is not the only one, but is the one who fights for the overall title. In my case when I was passing one of the WP boy my boat turned for a bit vertical (not 180 but about 90 dgre) and that was real as my boat was a bit more north after that. Also,in the leg before this one, I had the other bug which I had again to this one. Is the bug that after you finish and the system parks you in the center of the circle a few seconds later you re kicked out and you must w8 another minute. Besides the so many bugs competition level is minimized so much as you can never trust the data you receive either for the position you and the rest around has, but most important about the position each of your opponents holds at each time. You must straggle to click reload and click again several times to see the opponent you want and after all that, all you see is the line it leaves his boat and you must estimate just about were he is. Competition is all about what your opponents are doing and ..oh I can write pages about the bugs and the wrongs and the malfunctions the new ui/platform has that diminishes so much the competition level. The worst of all is that WE PAY for that -not working properly- options. I am also VERY angry for all that which is getting worst as nobody of VR is listening to us not to mention the arrogant attitude mr Philippe showed us that day in the past we all talked about all the problems we face

I forgot to mention the issues the programmer has some time when it goes back to the previews order you gave to it, after the new one you give. This is happening rarely but is destroying your race if and when it happens if you are not over the screen bugs,bugs,bugs,bugs to the PAID options can only make you ...mad

we have to deal with the fact is buggy. the one who deals the best with it wins. and yes, I've had my fair bit of bugs and related anger. however anger doesn't improve your performance and VR is not gonna fix bugs

although I heard / saw they short the period between updates at the first buoy in Groupama from 120 seconds to someting between 20 and 40.

The new refresh period is 60 seconds, great
As usual, no information from VR staff about these improvements (transparent boat, refresh time) expected by the players

Yes, I've seen also that improvements and as all, I got informed from other VR sailors. I must agree with Ursuss Maritimus. We have to deal with the fact that is going to be buggy and we have to deal the best way possible with it, and hopping at the same time for luck as these bugs are popping here and there and you never know when will be your turn.. This is it!!
Although some improvements have been just implemented, we can only see what is possible to be seen before the start of the next leg. As no official info exists we can hope that they may have done a bit more, like been able to see easier and with accuracy our friends/opponents or other improvements from the so many we have been asking VR since VOR started.
The bottom line stays the same. We count the bugs and malfunctions as another factor of the regatta and we go on as we have another leg to complete VOR and those who races the clipper, to complete that too. After, I will see the improvements and I will make my mind then about what I will be doing from that point on.

I was hit with a variation of the waypoint bug in the Groupama race. The VMG beating around the point was between 2 and 6 AM in my timezone, so I did it all on waypoints. 9 waypoints wasn't enough to get around the corner, so sometime around 2:30 AM, after the first few waypoints were clear, I woke up and added two more. Then I noticed just before going back to sleep that I had a "wrong sail" notification. So I checked again and saw that my boat was going backwards. I dropped from 9th to something like 84th. Went back to sleep. At least it's a race I don't care about.

In this case, I think the issue was that I reached my closest waypoint while I was editing future waypoints. I think when I then acknowledged my edits, it re-confirmed the first waypoint as a destination, and turned me around accordingly. Normally, I try to avoid editing waypoints when I'm within a few minutes of the closest, but it's hard to remember to do that at 2:30 AM. I don't usually wake up in the middle of the night, if I can find a way to avoid it.

(Metot) I have had several "2 times 180" and I think I found out why. If you open your WP and the first one i schedule 0min then delete all your WP's and close the WP window. Since you have "probably" already passed the "0min" WP the server will add it again when you close the WP window - and then you get your "2 times 180". YourMomSA - You probably passed your first WP while planning and when you closed the WP window - boom 180 back..

In the real race, when the comity makes an error, you can protest against its. VR want to be the leader of virtual sailing race, but the rules are not very serious, and it's not possible to protest. I think sailing race is a gentlemen's sport.
At VR, they are so far of its values.

The problems occuring if adding new waypoints while being close to the first sounds logical and familiar, - been there, done that. But what about the minimum distance between different waypoints? Will the 60 seconds refresh time make a change here, - or do we still have to put them several minutes apart to avoid our boats playing ping pong between the first two?

Have been too busy to do offshore races so thought I would give VR Inshore a play .. yeah right, so many bugs and mixed security issues it won't even run in Chrome or Edge!!!!
