Hi Cvetan,

I understand the various durations extend how far out in time you wish to have the model look, but i'm interested in what other differences are in included in their AI. Clearly in cycling through different "durations" give me different choices (even when the target is within range of all durations selected). It almost seems that the 1 day forecast allows for shorter tacks (10 mins) whereas others are more limited. Are there "preferences" programmed into the different duration models other than just the duration?

I still love the site... I hope donations are still dribbling in.

This comes from the fact that different duration is run wit different time step. 7 days uses 1-hour step and you just can't have integer number of 1-hour steps if you run the program at random point in time. It's only correct if you run it in the first minutes of the hour.

The proper fix for that is to make the time step variable - use 10 minutes for the first 12 hours of all forecasts and then increase it depending of the interval. But it involves serious rewrite because the step is hardcoded in the current version.

Thanks Cvetan. That is very insightful. It makes sense about needing to be run the 7 day plan in the early parts of the hour to be accurate when running a 7 day plan.

If the one day plan used a 10 minute timestep, and the 7 day plan uses a 1 hour timestep, what are the various timesteps used for the 2, 3, and 5 day plans?
